We’ve certainly seen plenty of new music videos that reappropriate VHS footage from ’80s sci-fi flicks, but on this slick clip for Com Truise’s “Brokendate” tune, the New Jersey-based bedroom producer ups the ante by creating his very own nostalgic sci-fi thriller. Director Will Joines touches on a handful of cinematic legacies—including Tron, Cloak & Dagger, and maybe even a little Blade Runner—in his neon-soaked detective noir, which casts Com Truise as the shades-wearing, cigar-smoking villainous mastermind.
